Chelsea hammer Indonesia All-Stars 8-1
Chelsea thrashed an Indonesia All-Stars team 8-1 in the last match of their Asian tour on Thursday.
Playing before an enthusiastic crowd at the Gelora Bung Karno Main stadium in Jakarta, Chelsea went ahead thanks to a 21st minute penalty by Eden Hazard, after skipper John Terry was fouled by Ferdinand Sinaga following a corner.
The Blues turned up the heat eight minutes later as Ramires scored the first of his two goals on the night, finishing home a pass from Ryan Bertrand. Two minutes later, Demba Ba scored from a rebound, after Indonesian goalkeeper Kurnia Mega did well to parry a shot from Ramires. Terry, with a trademark header, made it 4-0 in injury time.
Chelsea showed no mercy in the second half, with teenage midfielder Bertrand Traore hammering home a long shot from near the edge of the area, five minutes into the half.
Striker Romelu Lukaku completed the rout with a brace either side of Ramires’s second goal in the 56th minute, for which he turned provider.
The home side netted a consolation when Greg Nwokolo converted from close range, with the ball deflecting via Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas into his own net.
Earlier on their Asian tour to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, Chelsea defeated a Thai All-Star team 1-0 and a Malaysian XI 4-1.
