Chelsea News: John Terry reveals his favourite player and manager
What's the story?
Chelsea's most decorated player in history and their reliable captain for over 13 years and 578 matches, John Terry recently recalled his best moment in the Blues' #26 jersey and revealed the best players he ever played with, while also picking his favourite manager.
The player took the time for a short Q&A session with his followers on Instagram yesterday and revealed some interesting and previously unknown facts about his long and successful career with the five-time Premier League champions.
In case you didn't know...
Though Terry spent almost all of his career with Chelsea, he actually started out with fellow London rivals West Ham United and moved to Chelsea at the age of 14.
He is the club's most successful captain, having led them to five Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, one UEFA Europa League and one UEFA Champions League title since 2004.
In 2017, he became the first ever player to captain a team to the league title on five occasions.
The heart of the matter...
John Terry will always be remembered as one of the greatest players in the club's history by Stamford Bridge faithful. Though it has been around two years since he parted ways with the club, he still remains a huge Blues' fan.
He invited his followers on Instagram to ask him anything in a Q&A yesterday and in doing so some great insights into his career were revealed by the legendary skipper.
First, he revealed that French defender Marcel Desailly was the best centre-back partner he ever had. He wrote, "he was so good to me as a 17-year-old coming through at Chelsea"
Secondly, he said that the 'Special One' Jose Mourinho is his favorite manager. It should be noted that the former Manchester United manager made him the club captain in 2004-05 season and helped the club to their first title in the Premier League era.
Finally, when a fan asked whether Eden Hazard, who is being increasingly linked with Real Madrid, is going to stay at the club, he said, "I hope so."
What's next?
Hazard's future with the club remains unclear, but he has continued to perform on a high level with the club.
Maurizio Sarri will be hoping his superstar helps them tomorrow when they visit the defending champions Manchester City in their league fixture.
