Chelsea Transfer News: Carlos Tevez snubs Chelsea and Napoli, to retire at Boca Juniors

32-year-old Argentinian forward Carlos Tevez has revealed that he had offers from Chelsea and Napoli, however, he wishes to complete his dream of finishing his glorious career at his boyhood club Boca Juniors in Buenos Aires.

Carlos Tevez refused to make a return to the Premier League or Europe. Previously during his stint in England, he won two titles with Manchester United followed by a title with neighbours Manchester City. He then moved to the Serie A at Juventus, where Antonio Conte signed him in 2013, where he won back-to-back titles.

Supposedly, Conte was looking for a reunion at Chelsea owing to his experience in the Premier League, however, Tevez seems to have other ideas.

"I'm fine at Boca," said the 32-year-old, as quoted by Italy's Corriere dello Sport.

“Indeed my idea, my dream is to finish my career as a player in this wonderful club. Europe? Yes, it's true Napoli and Chelsea seek me, but I repeat what I said before. My desire is to stay at Boca until I retire.”

Carlos Tevez started his professional football career at Boca Juniors and appears to have a plan of letting it complete a full circle. But, after his side lost in the Copa Libertadores semifinal, there were growing speculation about his future. Although Tevez has laid it to all to rest dismissing them as mere rumours.

Tevez continued, "When you get hit hard like that with the Libertadores elimination, as a fan and as a player, you have to take a rest to get ready to go again," he said. "I wasn't feeling right and the proper thing to do was to step aside and get my head straight to return stronger.

"Obviously I am going to continue at Boca, everything that has been rumoured since the end of the [Copa Libertadores] match is just that, rumours.

"I am here, trying to do the best for my club, my idea has always been to retire at Boca, no matter what happens," he said. "I am a point of reference and all the kids look up to me. And it is important to always be doing well, to not show weakness and to set an example.

“I think that one, even with their successes and mistakes, always tries to do what is best for the club."

Tevez became a public figure after his first season in the Premier League at West Ham, whom he helped avoid relegation dramatically. Recently, the East London club made an attempt to bring their hero back to the club but negotiations failed as Tevez demanded a staggering £250,000 a week.

West Ham had offered the heroic striker a club-record £150,000-a-week, plus bonuses, to return to the club.
