Chelsea Transfer News: N'golo Kante to undergo medical tomorrow, moving from Leicester on €36m fee
N’golo Kante is set to confirm a move to Chelsea, with the Leicester City star moving on a staggering €36 million fee. Reports in France claim that the French star will sign a five-year contract and will undergo a medical within 48 hours, following a season where he propelled the Foxes to the Premier League title, thus earning widespread interest from the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid.
The extremely reliable RMCSport journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi broke the news with the following tweet:

Kante represents a fantastic signing for Chelsea, with new manager Antonio Conte’s hard-working and high-pressing style perfectly suited for the Italian’s tactics. However, with Nemanja Matic also present in Chelsea’s squad, a 36 million buy could possibly move the Serbian out of the starting lineup.
Leicester City based their 4-4-2 formation around Kante last season, with the French midfielder providing some stunning stats over the course of the season, topping the Premier League in interceptions and tackles. With rivals Manchester United and Manchester City strenghtening, Conte’s Chelsea have moved swiftly to lay down a marker and make one of the potential signings of the season.
Ranieri ‘understands’ Kante’s exit from Leicester
Kante was actually scouted by Chelsea two years ago when he was playing for Caen, but the Frenchman moved to Leicester City last summer. A stellar season has seen his star rise, with an impressive Euro 2016 campaign also garnering him many suitors – leading to Leicester offering him a four-year contract.

Earlier, Foxes manager Claudio Ranieri had hoped for a swift resolution to the rumours surrounding Kante’s future, with the Italian saying “I would like to understand if he stays with me or not. I speak often with him. If one is not happy with me I prefer that he goes. We offered a new contract to him, he went away because he wanted to finish Euro 2016, and now there is so much speculation around him.”
“I don't want to lose him but I can understand if he wants to go.”
New Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will either way be placing a call to Ranieri, asking him for advice, although the genial Italian might not be as welcoming with the advice, with Conte saying “In the coming days I’ll call Claudio Ranieri because he’s a lovely man and I’ll ask him for advice.”
