Chelsea transfer rumour: West Ham are ready to make a move for Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas has fallen out of favour at Chelsea with manager Antonio Conte looking to offload the Spaniard

Chelsea is on a roll and manager Antonio Conte seems to have the results holding his back against some of the bold decisions he has made to turn things around at Stamford Bridge. Picking on a couple of changes, Conte introduced a 3-4-3 formation at Chelsea and the expulsion of Cesc Fabregas from the starting XI since the loss against Arsenal.

Believe it or not, but Conte has orchestrated instant success which has seen them win five league games in a row, five clean sheets in all these games and plenty of goals. Essentially, Cesc Fabregas seems to have taken a hit harder than the other Premier League giants.

The Spaniard has fallen down the pecking order in Chelsea ranks and has made only four appearances in the Premier League so far, out of which he has started just one of the games.

Antonio Conte has had his mind boggling over transfers to bolster his squad further which also involves clearing the deadwood and it appears Fabregas starts in this list, so much so that apparently Chelsea are even willing to subsidise his £160,000-a-week wages. The out of favour midfielder has thus invited attention from several clubs and London-rivals West Ham is the latest to join the race.

According to Mirror, West Ham "are ready to make an audacious move to land Fabregas." And it wouldn’t seem to be a surprise if the player agrees to such a move given that he has a penchant for clubs from London.

On the other hand, the Hammers could make use of the opportunity to finally gain momentum as the second half of the season approaches, after having fared poorly in the first 11 games of the season. Besides, they could also be thinking of an ideal replacement for Dimitri Payet with Bilic keeping an eye on  the status of their hot albeit aged star.

However, Fabregas still has three years left on his contract and sources have reported that the player wants to see out his contract at Chelsea. Cesc Fabregas joined the Blues in 2014 and helped them win a title in his first season at the club.

Nonetheless, it promises to be an exciting winter transfer window as Antonio Conte seems to be chasing Radja Nainggolan of Roma and Inter Milan's Marcelo Brozovic. With an eye on strengthening his defence and midfield with players that suit his style, if he manages to bring in new recruits, Fabregas wouldn’t help but consider his future.
