Match preview

Chelsea will be aiming to exact revenge from Wolverhampton Wanderers when they play hosts to the newly-promoted side on Sunday at Stamford Bridge. A win here would not just enhance their top 4 ambitions, but also be their fourth win on the trot.

The resurgent Blues side have managed to restore their confidence and expansive footballing style, and with the likes of N'Golo Kante and Eden Hazard set to return fresh after a much-needed rest in midweek, the hosts are hot favorites to claim all three points.

Their recent record against Wolves at home has been splendid, as Chelsea have won all four of their Premier League home games against this opposition, scoring 14 goals and conceding just two in the same period.

To make matters better, Chelsea have lost just one of their last 53 home Premier League games against newly promoted teams.

Should Wolves do the double over the West Londoners, it will be the first time they'll be doing so since 1974-75 - when Chelsea were relegated.

Maurizio Sarri has no injury concerns ahead of the home fixture, as all his players are available to feature.

Eden Hazard, Antonio Rudiger and N'Golo Kante should seamlessly slot into the starting XI, while Emerson could replace Marcos Alonso at left back.

Skipper Cesar Azpilicueta is expected to don the armband again, after having been given a rare rest in Chelsea's 3-0 victory over Dynamo Kiev.

Upfront, Pedro could keep his place alongside Hazard down the flank, whereas Gonzalo Higuain will spearhead the attack in place of Chelsea's Europa League talisman Olivier Giroud.

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Ryan Bennett is presently serving a two-match ban due to excess accumulation of yellow cards, which means Roman Saiss may drop to defence.
