Chelsea will ramp up their pre-season preparations as they square off against Club America on Wednesday. It's still early days for the Blues under new manager Enzo Maresca and they will need plenty more outings before the Italian coach can fully implement his style of play.
Meanwhile, Club America are on a break from domestic football and will use this opportunity to test their skills against some of the best in the world.
Chelsea kicked off their pre-season with a 2-2 draw against League One side Wrexham. Although there were enough positives to take away from that game, their subsequent meeting with Celtic was bereft of any.
Chelsea were blown away, beaten 4-1 with their only goal coming from a Christopher Nkunku penalty. Defensively, it was a horror show from Chelsea and it's one department where a lot of work clearly needs to be done.

It's been a few weeks since the new Liga MX season began and Club America's players have plenty of miles under their belt in the new campaign compared to Wednesday's opponents. They have picked up six points from four matches so far this term, winning one, losing two and drawing another.
Although there is a huge gulf in class on paper, Club America will cause Chelsea plenty of problems purely due to the fitness levels these two sides are operating at right now.
