Chelsea will be happy to secure their place for this years Europa Cup final after their heart breaking semi-final exits from their domestic cups.
FC Basel started the match brightly and in the first minute itself they got a good chance when a header from near the half-way line loops over the Chelsea defence and falls for Marco Streller, but the forward rushes his shot and half-volleys wide.
Then Chelsea began to keep the ball and they were comfortable with the possession, but just before the half-time, visitors scored through Mohamed Salah. Stocker prods the ball into the area for Salah and He did the rest to beat the Cech from close range.
For the first 5 minutes into the second half Basel completely dominated the match but couldn’t score. On 50th minute Chelsea equalised through Fernando Torres, Lampard shoots with his left foot from the edge of the box and Sommer saves it down to his left, but he cleared it straight to Torres who slides in and scored the equaliser.
And just after a minute Moses scored the second goal for Chelsea, his first shot was stopped by Sommer, but he made no mistake in burying the rebound.
And 7 minutes later, David Luiz scored with an impeccable finish to the roof of the corner, and then it was game over for Basel.
So that is that, Chelsea will face Benfica on May 15 at Amsterdam.
