Bengaluru FC forwards Sunil Chhetri and Robin Singh to feature in ISL 2015
Bengaluru FC forwards Sunil Chhetri and Robin Singh have made themselves available for the Indian Super League 2015 player auction. The 30-year-old Chhetri will be the beneficiary of the highest base price at the auction. Chhetri and Robin are part of a 10 player auction list.
The BFC duo missed out on the lucrative offers of the inaugural edition of the Hero ISL due to club commitments. However, with the contracts of both Chhetri and Robin expiring at the end of May, the duo were free to sign for the upcoming edition of the ISL. Apart from that, the success of the first season of the ISL too has played a major part in motivating the likes of Sunil Chhetri and Robin Singh.
The previous season saw most of the Bengaluru players turn down lucrative offers from the ISL organizers with the club, choosing not to allow its players to participate in the star-studded tournament. The continuity has been a major boon for Ashley Westwood as the Blues went on to clinch the Federation Cup earlier this year.
Thoi Singh signs up for ISL
Reports suggest that Thoi Singh has been handed a 38 lakh deal by the organizers of the Indian Super League. However, if not added to the auction pool, Thoi will be a part of the domestic draft. The winger has been in great form for the Blues this season with four goals from 13 appearances in the I-League this season.
That said, all three players will have a loan back clause in their contracts. The clause states that they will be loaned back to Bengaluru FC upon the conclusion of the tournament.
An anonymous source from the organizing team of the Indian Super League was quoted saying: "All three players have signed up with organizers of the ISL but it has been agreed that once the tournament is over, they will be loaned back to Bengaluru FC."
