Clubs with most goals at the 2014 FIFA World Cup (semi-final stage)

Bayern Munich top the goal scoring charts with 17 goals

The 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil has seen goals galore with 167 goals scored until now with still the third place play-off and the final yet to be played.

Here is a chart showing which club’s players have scored the most goals and which of their players are in with a chance to win the coveted Golden Boot award.

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich top the charts with 17 goals in the World Cup, a number largely helped by Thomas Muller’s 5 goal tally. Netherlands’ Arjen Robben and Switzerland’s Xherdan Shaquiri have scored 3 goals each for their country.

Barcelona are not far behind though; Argentina’s Lionel Messi has single-handedly taken the Albicelestes to the World Cup final with 4 goals while club team mate Neymar also scored 4 goals for the Selecao before getting injured before the semi-final against Germany. Chilean Alexis Sanchez scored 2 goals to make it 10 for the Catalan giants.

Manchester United’s players have not fallen too far back in the goal-scoring department in the World Cup though; the Red Devils’ total of 8 goals has been helped by a score of individual scorers from different countries. While Dutch captain Robin van Persie has found the net thrice in the competition, others like Marouane Fellaini, Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez have scored once each.
