Colombia vs Paraguay Head-to-Head stats and numbers you need to know before Match 7 of the 2024 Copa America
Colombia and Paraguay get underway in the 2024 Copa America when they lock horns at the NRG Stadium on Monday. Having failed to win the last five meetings between the two nations, Los Guaraníes will head into the game seeking to get one over Nestor Lorenzo’s men and begin their campaign as they mean to go on.
Colombia have journeyed to the United States with plenty of optimism as they look to secure their second Copa America title and their first since 2001.
Los Cafeteros are on an eight-game winning streak and are unbeaten in their last 23 matches across all competitions, picking up 18 wins and five draws since a 1-0 loss to Argentina in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in February 2022.
Colombia have named an experienced squad, with the likes of David Ospina, Yerry Mina, James Rodríguez and Liverpool forward Luis Díaz leading the team.
Paraguay have enjoyed more success in the Copa America compared to Colombia and will be looking to secure their third title in the continental showpiece. Daniel Garnero’s side won their first Copa America title in 1953, when they edged out Brazil 3-2 in the final, 26 years before their triumph in Peru.
However, Los Guaraníes have struggled to impose themselves in the tournament in the last decade, crashing out in the group stages in 2016 before back-to-back quarter-final exits in 2019 and 2021.
Paraguay have struggled for results of late and head into the United States on a run of just three wins in their last 14 matches across all competitions since September 2022.
