Confederations Cup 2013: Forlan wins 100th cap, Ideye in for Nigeria

Nigeria made two changes for their second Confederations Cup outing in Salvador on Thursday, while Diego Forlan was handed a start on his record-breaking 100th appearance for Uruguay.

Midfielder Sunday Mba and striker Anthony Ujah dropped out of the Nigeria team that thrashed Tahiti 6-1 on Monday, with John Ogu and Brown Ideye drafted into the team by coach Stephen Keshi.

Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez had announced his starting line-up on the eve of the game at Arena Fonte Nova.

Forlan, who becomes the first player to play 100 games for Uruguay, starts up front with Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani, while Diego Godin, Martin Caceres and captain Diego Lugano form a three-man defence.

Victory for Nigeria would take the African champions into the last four alongside Spain, who thrashed Tahiti 10-0 earlier in Rio de Janeiro, while Uruguay will be eliminated if they lose.
