Lyon's Corentin Tolisso 'dreams of playing' for Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona
Lyon's exciting young midfielder, Corentin Tolisso, says he dreams of playing with the likes of Arsenal, Barcelona, Real Madrid in the future. The 22-year-old has been an integral part of the Lyon side ever since being promoted to the first team back in 2013.
Tolisso even played Arsenal in the Emirates Cup last season and says his style of play suits the Gunners given how the physical and quick the Premier League is as a league. "Many clubs make me dream like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and England with teams like Arsenal," Tolisso said.
"I like the Premier League and I think I am well suited to it. It is the league that offers the most competition, it is the most open, the most hard-fought and the most spectacular."
The midfielder was linked with a move to Italian side Napoli in the summer and was even close to signing the contract, but said he reconsidered given he could learn a lot more in his current team.
"Once I finally said 'no' (to Napoli), my priority has been to a great season with OL," Tolisso said. "I really made a choice of the heart, a sporting choice.
"I knew there were advantages to go there for OL, for me it is not about the money."
Tolisso is unlikely to regret his move to Napoli given his start to the season. 5 goals and 2 assists in 11 appearances for Lyon have ensured all of Europe's big guns are keeping tabs on the 22-year-old. And with Arsenal looking to sign more bodies for the centre in the coming windows, and given his club form, its likely they could make a move for him.
Real Madrid and Barcelona, though, will need to be convinced even more but could take a gamble too, especially if any of their European rivals are ready to compete in the bidding war.
