Cristiano Ronaldo deserves the Ballon d'Or says French midfield star Paul Pogba

Cristiano Ronaldo is considered to be the favourite for the Ballon d’Or

Cristiano Ronaldo is the favourite to win this year’s Ballon d’Or and now France’s Paul Pogba believes that the Real Madrid superstar will claim his fourth Ballon d’Or title this year. The Real Madrid star scored the winning penalty in the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid before guiding his country to the Euro 2016 title.

Lionel Messi might have beaten Ronaldo to the Ballon d’Or last year, but, Pogba feels that Ronaldo deserves it this time around:

"You have [Lionel] Messi, you have Ronaldo. Honestly, I like them both. [Antoine] Griezmann has had an amazing year," he told ESPN Deportes.

"For me, it's Cristiano Ronaldo [who should win], because he won the Champions League and Euro 2016."

Antoine Griezmann and Lionel Messi are considered to be Ronaldo’s main rivals while the performances of Luis Suarez also cannot be ignored.

Ronaldo will win the Ballon d’Or – Griezmann

Pogba is not the only player who thinks Ronaldo will win the Ballon d’Or with Antoine Griezmann also stating the same in a conversation with PSG correspondent, Loic Tanzi.

According to him, the speculation about who would win the prestigious Golden Ball must be silenced after the conclusion of the 2016 edition of the Euros. Ronaldo, in this football season, has already won two major tournaments; one with his country and one with his club.

PSG correspondent, Loic Tanzi, reported on Twitter what Griezmann actually said. In a tweet that translates to, “It's now finished for the Ballon D'Or. Ronaldo won both of the biggest competitions of this season.”

Arsene Wenger had widely backed Griezmann to overtake both Messi and Ronaldo in the race to win the Golden Ball after the Frenchman scored 6 goals to help his country reach the finals of the 2016 Euros.

Greizmann has suffered heartbreak in two finals now, but players like Sagna, Evra have backed him for football’s top individual honour while his manager Diego SImeone is a huge admirer of the Frenchman’s talents.

One cannot also ignore the contributions of Luis Suarez in Barcelona’s spectacular double this season and the Ballon d’Or will be an interesting race between Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Antoine Griezmann this year.
