Cristiano Ronaldo news: "Ronaldo threatened me with kidnap, physical abuse," claims ex-girlfriend
What's the story?
Amid rape allegations against him, Cristiano Ronaldo's ex-partner, Jasmine Lennard, has now accused the Juventus star in a series of tweets of threatening to kidnap her and causing her physical harm.
In case you didn't know...
Last year, Ronaldo was accused of rape by a woman named Kathryn Mayorga, who alleges that the former Real Madrid star raped her in a Las Vegas hotel room when he was on holiday in the US with his cousin and brother-in-law in 2009.
Mayorga told German media outlet Der Speigel that the 33-year-old forward also paid her $375,000 in return for her silence and asked her to sign a non-disclosure agreement after the incident.
Las Vegas police have since reopened an investigation into the case, saying in a statement: "The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call of a sexual assault on June 13, 2009."
"At the time the report was taken, the victim did not provide detectives with the location of the incident or suspect description. A medical exam was conducted.
"As of September 2018, the case has been reopened and our detectives are following up on information being provided by the victim.
"This is an on-going investigation and no further details will be released at this time."
Ronaldo has since denied the allegations in a series of Twitter posts.

The heart of the matter
Lennard, who is a British fashion model, has now come forward with fresh allegations against the Juventus star overTwitter.
Her account on the social media platform has since been deleted but the press has already been alerted.
According to Fox Sports, Lennard spoke out in support of Mayorga and narrated her own ordeal, claiming that Ronaldo threatened to have her kidnapped and physically harm her if she were to date anyone else or if she left the house.
The model also claimed that she has proof of the behaviour as the two have been in contact on a regular basis for the last year.
What's next?
The Daily Mail UK reports that the Juventus star has already hit back at the allegations, calling them 'false and defamatory'.
The publication has reached out to both parties for comment and it remains to be seen if Ronaldo will address the allegations himself once again.
