Cristiano Ronaldo continued his goalscoring ways with Juventus and helped them secure another Serie A victory.

What's the story?

Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was the hero for the Bianconeri fans and a villain for all the Lazio fans watching their club's home fixture against Juventus, as the Serie A giants came back from behind to beat the hosts by the skin of their teeth.

Ronaldo scored an 88th minute penalty to become the first player in modern history to score in eight consecutive Serie A away games. His goal also helped the visitors secure their 19th win of the season.

In case you didn't know...

Ronaldo, who only signed up for the Turin based club this summer, has hit the ground running with his new club and has broken numerous records in Italy in his debut season.

He missed a penalty in last week's fixture against Chievo, to kick off the new the year in a disappointment.

The 5-time Ballon d'Or winner won his first title with the Old Lady earlier this month when he scored the only goal of the Supercoppa Italiana final against AC Milan.

The heart of the matter...

After a goalless first half, Juventus found themselves trailing the hosts Lazio by one goal, courtesy Emre Can's own goal. But, defender Joao Cancelo cancelled out their lead in the 74th minute.

It was looking like the league leaders will have to settle for a point, but Cancelo was again involved when the referee awarded a penalty to the visitors and their top scorer, Ronaldo stepped up to take it.

Having missed a penalty last week, the player must've been in some pressure. But the former Real Madrid man kept his cool and converted from the spot to set an unprecedented record of scoring in eight consecutive away games in the Italian top flight.

The 33-year-old shrugged off the controversies surrounding him off the field, to gift his team the three points, while also scoring his 15th goal of the season.

What's next?

Ronaldo, who has already won his first title at the club, must have his eyes set on the Serie A trophy. In the meanwhile, we can expect the mercurial Portuguese to keep setting even more records with his new team.
