Juventus star, Cristiano Ronaldo, has released the trailer of a new cartoon series in which he plays the lead superhero.
In case you didn't know
Cristiano Ronaldo needs no introduction. The Portuguese star has won a plethora of trophies and enjoyed glittering seasons with his former clubs, Manchester United and Real Madrid, and looks to replicate the success with his new club. Along with his arch-rival Lionel Messi, Ronaldo remains one of the greatest players in the modern era.
During his nine-year tenure in Spain, the 34-year-old netted 451 goals and became Real Madrid's all-time top-scorer. Ronaldo won several trophies with his team, notably four Champions League titles and two league titles. Ronaldo has also won five Ballon d'Ors in his decorated career, among numerous other coveted individual awards.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner left the club to join Juventus last summer and has already secured the Serie A weeks ago. In his first season in Italy, the Portuguese talisman has netted 21 league goals and scored all of Juventus' knockout goals in the Champions League.
Ronaldo's exploits were not enough in the Champions League, as they were knocked out by Ajax in the quarter-final stages.
The heart of the matter
The former Real Madrid star announced the creation of an entertainment series - 'Strike Force Seven', which will include comic books, video games, and cartoon series. Ronaldo released the trailer of the animated series in the weekend.
In the trailer, we see Ronaldo signing autographs but quickly transforms into a superhero to fight against villains.
About the project, Ronaldo wrote:
“In the same way football connects cultures and people around the world, I believe great animated characters and heroes can do the same and that’s why I am excited to bring together these passions of football and superheroes through this project and share it with my fans."
What's next?
Having already secured the Serie A title, Juventus has little to play for. But Ronaldo will be eyeing bagging the top goalscorer award as the Old Lady face Roma next in the Serie A.
