Daily transfer news and rumours roundup - 28th November 2016
Here are the top transfer stories and rumours from 28th November 2016 which sees Inter Milan ready to rival Juventus and Manchester City in pulling off one of the signings of the next summer window.
Meanwhile, there are strange developments going on at Chelsea which could end up benefitting one of their London rivals. The Blues are also desperate to fend off Barcelona and keep hold of one of their star performers this season.
Schweinsteiger could be heading to Brazil
Out of favour Manchester United star Bastian Schweinsteiger could become a marquee signing for the famous Brazilian side Santos. Former German skipper has been left out of the squad by Jose Mourinho for most of the season before we saw Basti on the bench in a 1-1 draw vs West Ham. MLS side Chicago Fire are also in line to sign the 32-year-old midfielder.
Schweinsteiger is tipped to quit Old Trafford at all costs in January with MLS being touted as the more favourable destination. However, we could see a change in scenario, if Basti manages to pull off a commanding display against Manchester City in the EFL Cup quarter-final clash later this week.
Sturridge could yet stay at Liverpool
Daniel Sturridge has been linked with a move away from Liverpool for several weeks with Southampton and West Ham tipped as the probable destination for the English striker. However, with the recent injury concerns surrounding Philippe Coutinho, ESPN FC claims that Sturridge could stay on at Anfield beyond the January transfer window.
Divock Origi and Roberto Firmino will be Liverpool’s only attacking options in January as Sadio Mane is also tipped to leave Liverpool for the entire month due to international commitments with the African Cup of Nations. We may either see Liverpool keep hold of Sturridge or sign a new attacker to boost their title hopes.
Inter Milan are one of the 3 clubs wanting to sign Alexis Sanchez
As per the reports from Calciomercato, Inter Milan are lining up a summer move for Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez who does not seem to be agreeing a new contract with the North London club anytime. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was once again without an answer when quizzed about Sanchez's future following a 3-1 win over Bournemouth over the weekend.
It has given Inter Milan a boost in their hopes of signing Alexis but they will face competition from Juventus and Manchester City who also want to sign the Chilean star next summer.
West Ham want Batshuayi on loan in January
West Ham could turn to Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi as the potential striker signing in January as Slaven Bilic prepares to save his career with the Hammers, according to reports from Daily Star. Bilic had earlier claimed that West Ham could bring in a new manager if results do not change for good in the near future. West Ham have struggled to score goals in recent matches and have lined up a January move for every available striker.
Batshuayi has struggled to find regular playing time since his move from Ligue 1 last summer and Antonio Conte could consider sending the Belgian international to a rival Premier League side to get accustomed to playing in England.
Chelsea set to offer Moses a new contract
Chelsea are ready to offer Victor Moses a new contract to keep hold of the recently turned right-back and fend off Barcelona who have grown interested in the Nigerian international. Moses has impressed everyone with his adaptability and ability to play in the 3-4-3 system and has been one of Chelsea's better players this season. The Blues could enter negotiations before the start of the January transfer window to ensure Barcelona do not get their hands on the 25-year-old
