Chelsea target German starlet
Chelsea are eyeing a move for Germany’s young U17 starlet Jann-Fiete Arp. German media outlet Bild states that the Blues are one among a number of top European clubs chasing Arp’s signature. The youngster who plays for Hamburg is Germany’s U17 captain and has put Europe on high alert after banging in two hat-tricks for Germany’s U17 team at the UEFA U-17 Championship in Croatia.
Borussia Dortmund and Juventus are also interested in the young man’s services and are set to rival Chelsea in the bid to sign the player.
Arsenal enter Morata race; to submit £50 million bid for the Spaniard
Arsenal are set to enter the race to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid. The Sun reports that the Gunners are prepared to bid £50 million for the Spanish striker and are preparing to sign him as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who will leave the club most probably.
Arsene Wenger has reportedly sanctioned the move but could face stiff competition from London rivals Chelsea. Antonio Conte is also preparing to bid for Morata as he looks to strengthen his squad for next season after winning the Premier League this campaign.
The Real Madrid striker is reportedly frustrated with lack of first team appearances in Madrid and wants to leave.
Atletico Madrid want Jamie Vardy
Atletico Madrid are reportedly looking into the possibility of signing Jamie Vardy from Leicester City. Sky Sports reported the news but also stated that Diego Simeone will have to stay in charge of Atletico next season and the Madrid side’s appeal to CAS against their transfer ban needs to be successful as well.
Simeone wants to bring Vardy to the Vincente Calderon as they prepare for a lengthy summer transfer saga to keep hold of Antoine Griezmann who is wanted by Manchester United.
Barcelona enter race to sign Mahrez
Barcelona have entered the race to sign Leicester City’s wantaway star Riyad Mahrez, according to the Daily Star. Last season’s PFA Player Of The Year Mahrez is understood to be pushing for a move out of Leicester and Europe’s big clubs are interested in signing the player.
The Algerian has a price tag of £35 million. Barcelona have been interested in Mahrez since the January transfer window but will have to fight off competition from PSG, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool, who all are looking at signing the Foxes’ star man.
Chelsea and Spurs go head to head for Adam Smith
Another report from The Sun states that London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are set to go head to head to sign Bournemouth’s Adam Smith. Smith began his career at Spurs and the club are looking to re-sign the player as a replacement for Kyle Walker, who continues to be heavily linked with a move to the Etihad
The Blues sent scouts to watch Smith in Bournemouth’s 2-2 draw with Stoke recently and are mulling a move for him. Chelsea will reportedly scout him again when Bournemouth play Burnley next in the Premier League.
