Arsene Wenger is looking to boost his striking options and is apparently reigniting his interest in Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema. Wenger had wanted to sign the striker in the summer transfer window, but Benzema is believed to have snubbed all advances to remain at Madrid. Benzema who has 18 months left on his contract, has endured a difficult season with the Madrid fans and has always been one of Wenger’s most admired transfer targets. (Mirror)
With Borussia Dortmund having revealed that Marco Reus indeed has a release clause, Manchester United could make a January move for the 24-year-old and give back Shinji Kagawa to Dortmund. The Barclays Premier League champions are keen to strengthen their squad and have identified Reus as one of several leading targets whom they believe could address their shortage of goals from midfield. Manchester City want Malaga goalkeeper Willy Caballero as a replacement for Joe Hart. Pellegrini has targeted Caballero, 32, after admitting defeat in his pursuit of Barcelona star Victor Valdes, who has agreed to join big-spending Monaco at the end of this season. West Ham United target Felipe Caicedo has reportedly given the green light to a January bid by The Hammers or any of his other admirers by indicating that he wants to leave Lokomotiv Moscow.
