Liverpool are believed to be monitoring the progress of Djurgardens IF defender Daniel Amartey and are expected to bid for him. The 18 year old has attracted the attention of a number of high profile clubs with his impressive performances for Djurgarden in the Swedish Allsvenskan. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was believed to have become an ardent admirer of the youngster. Amartey can play effectively as a central defender as well as in defensive midfield and is also a member of the Ghana Under-20 national team. Tottenham Hotspur may find it tough to bring Croatian wonderkid Alen Halilovic to White Hart Lane following reports of the north Londoners falling behind Russian side CSKA Moscow in the race for his signature. It was previously reported that the player’s father had blocked a move to Tottenham, with his demand for guaranteed playing time having been turned down by Spurs. (footylatest)
Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal is expected to sign a new deal with the club within the next week. The 26-year-old, who joined the Bianconeri from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of around €10.5 million in 2011, already has a contract with the club that isn’t set to expire until June 2016, but now the reigning Serie A champions are apparently looking to keep him even longer. Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has rejected suggestions Radamel Falcao could leave the club in January. He said: “Falcao has signed a five-year deal with Monaco and I have already said a hundred times that he doesn’t have an exit clause. We put in a lot of effort in order to sign him and it would not make any sense to allow him to leave again in January or next summer.” (goal.com)
