Dani Alves admits it's difficult to play against Luis Suarez

Suarez has been in fine form this season

Dani Alves has admitted that playing against Luis Suarez is a very difficult task. The two players are teammates at Barcelona and would have faced each other in training but Alves feels he is a difficult striker to handle in an actual match.

Uruguay recently drew with Brazil in their World Cup qualifiers as Luis Suarez scored on his return from an international ban after his biting incident in the 2014 Word Cup. And Dani Alves had a very frank description when asked how difficult it was to face his teammate saying,“It’s very difficult to play against Suarez. It’s a pain in the b***s.”

Suarez is known for his agility and work rate, never giving defenders a moment's respite and Alves and his side faced a lot of trouble during the match. “He is always cooking up something, lurking for that one small chance.” said the right back.

The 32-year-old also talked about the difference in styles when Suarez  plays for Barcelona saying, “[At Barcelona] Suarez gets more of the ball than he does with Uruguay. We knew that Uruguay’s plan was to make it very difficult for us by sitting behind the ball.”

Brazil’s draw with Uruguay left them third in the qualifying table three points behind leaders  Ecuador and level with Argentina and Paraguay who occupy the play-off places. Despite Neymar and Alves playing together at Barcelona, the full-back says playing for Brazil is a different challenge altogether.

“Here with Brazil, Neymar and I have different team-mates, with a different view and a different philosophy,It's very different. If someone wants to see Barcelona, they will have to travel to Spain.”

The draw has put more pressure on Dunga who is coaching the Brazil national side for the second time after being sacked from the job in 2010. Brazil took a to 2-0 lead in the game but Uruguay fought back to secure a 2-2 draw to deny their neighbours the three points.

“We are always frustrated when we don't manage to win.” Dani Alves said about the game. “That always happens, no matter the place, the stadium. We are always trying to fight, to get the best results. But I think that if we struggle for stability, things will get complicated and more difficult”, he added.

Brazil will face Paraguay in their next qualifier and a win would consolidate their position in the table. But the team will be without David Luiz and Neymar for the clash with both players picking up yellow cards in the previous game.
