Danny Rose says he would love to work under Arsene Wenger
After being sacked amidst ferocious controversy, the English FA are scouring for an adequate replacement for the much-maligned Sam Allardyce and Danny Rose has a suggestion for them.
Speaking to London Evening Standard, he opined that Gunners’ manager, Arsene Wenger, would “do wonders” for the English national team. This, considering the fact that Rose plays for arch-rivals Tottenham, is a glaring remark that speaks volumes about the French manager.
“I’d welcome whoever is being linked with the job. What he’s done for Arsenal over the last 20 years has been brilliant, the football that Arsenal play is breathtaking to watch at times,” Rose told the London Evening Standard.
“If he was to ever become manager of England that could certainly do wonders for the country. It would be great to have a manager like him with all the experience he has got. I’d be all for that,” he went on to add.

Indeed, given Wenger’s experience, it is not entirely out of place to consider the Frenchman managing the England National Team, even though the man himself believes that the next England manager should be English.
However, given the way the Three Lions have performed in international tournaments in the past, it seems as though English managers aren’t really inspiring the necessary winning mentality required from the players.
So, a change in direction could be the answer to the conundrum that the England national team is. It could be argued that only a very few teams have won an international tournament with a manager from a different nationality, but given the way England have done and the current batch of English managers to pick from, the English FA could choose a foreigner to replace Big Sam—and Wenger could be to England what Otto Rehhagel was to Greece in Euro 2004.
Whether ‘Le Professeur’ would be interested in managing England remains to be seen with his main priority still being Arsenal. The Gunners, after an indifferent start to this season’s Premier League campaign, have begun to show some real hunger and sit third, just 2 points behind current leaders, Manchester City.
Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, have shown some real zeal from the very beginning and sit pretty between Arsenal and Manchester City in second place. In fact, they remain the only team in the Premier League to remain unbeaten so far and will be hoping to be serious contenders at the business end of the season.
