Dante takes swipe at Pep Guardiola, says he never speaks with his players

Dante was shown the exit doors after playing only one season under Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich

Brazilian defender Dante moved to Ligue 1 side Nice after just one year  with VFL Wolfsburg. The former Bayern Munich defender, who had joined Wolfsburg last season after losing his starting spot in Bavaria, took a swipe at former manager Pep Guardiola accusing him of not talking to his players at all.

Dante played for the German giants for three seasons helping Bayern win the Bundesliga in each of the three seasons along with a Champions League in 2012-13. The Brazilian lost the trust of his manager towards the end of his third season at the club which resulted in him being sold to Wolfsburg in the summer of 2015.

Dante, however, did not have the best of words for Pep Guardiola’s man-management skills. The defender, after joining Nice from Wolfsburg, said  "He never speaks with his players,"

"You never know where you stand as a player.

"There are coaches who are world class when it comes to tactics, but they are not so great on an interpersonal level, and Guardiola is one of them."

Dante was a part of Brazil’s devastating 7-1 loss to Germany in the 2014 World Cup, after which he lost form and never really held on to a starting berth at the Allianz Arena. Seeking more game time, the Brazilian moved to Wolfsburg in 2015. After just one year at the club, he now signed for Nice, only a week after pledging his future with Wolfsburg.

This is not the first time the hugely successful manager has been accused of not talking to players enough, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic being one of the biggest critics of Pep’s management style.

Recently, German forward Thomas Muller also delivered a shot at Pep, comparing him to their new manager Carlo Ancelotti. He said that the Italian bonded well with his squad whereas Guardiola was always in a world of his own.

"Ancelotti is a little bit closer to the players," the German international said.

"Pep was already a little bit in his own world because he thought for the whole day, 'How can I move my players two or three meters in a game situation to find a perfect solution?”, he added.

The current Manchester City boss has already taken the Premier League by storm, confirming qualification into the Champions League at sitting at the top of the Premier League table with three wins out of three. Guardiola will want to put aside this minor criticism by Dante and hope to guide City to the Premier League title at the end of the season.
