David Luiz going nowhere, says Mourinho

David Luiz to remain in London this season?

Despite reports suggesting that David Luiz might make a move from Stamford Bridge to Nou Camp, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has rubbished these claims by saying that the 26-year-old’s quality is something the London club could use.

Mourinho was full of praise for the Brazilian international after Chelsea’s 2-0 win over AC Milan even though Luiz did not feature in the game.

“David has come back with us fantastically and we have to use his quality,” Mourinho was quoted as saying by Goal.com.

“He has big self-confidence and self-esteem, especially when he comes up from the back with the ball.

“Can he improve defensively? Of course. But it is my job to try always to improve players.”

Barcelona have been scouring the transfer market in search of a solid defender, and Luiz is supposedly on top of their list. However, it seems doubtful that Luiz will sign for the Catalan club if Mourinho lives up to his promises.
