David Luiz to wait till after Confederations Cup to fix nose
David Luiz, who plays for Chelsea football club and Brazil national team, will have to undergo procedures for a nose surgery after he broke his nose during the Confederations Cup.
The defender’s battle scar is a result of his head-on collision with team-mate Thiago Silva during Brazil’s match against Mexico, which they won on Wednesday.
Luiz, 26, has revealed that he will wait till after the tournament to get his bloodied nose fixed.
According to Chelsea’s official website, Luiz said, “I’ll have to wait until the end of the competition and undergo surgery to fix it.”
“Yes, my nose is broken, but that’s part of the game.”
Brazil has won the opening games of the tournament against Japan and Mexico to enter the semi final rounds.
If all goes well, they will have to face Italy in the final group game, which will be held on Saturday, to decide who goes tops the group.
