David Luiz wants to move to Barcelona, reports suggest
Chelsea and Brazilian defender, David Luiz, has reportedly said that he wanted a move to Camp Nou according to the Spanish press.
Barcelona, recognising its vulnerable defence desperately wants a quality centre back to bolster their defensive options. However, Chelsea and its manager, Jose Mourinho are adamant and said that they won’t be parting ways with their star defender.
Jose Mourinho recently stated that Barcelona were “wasting their time” by making an official bid.
‘The bid? It’s lost time for them,’ said Mourinho.
He even stated that it would be better for David Luiz to leave for Inter Milan instead of going to the Catalans. But, if reports are really true and if Luiz really wants to leave Chelsea, it is a major problem for Chelsea as they would be facing Manchester United in their second game of the season without Luiz.
Luiz’s Brazilian teammate Dani Alves also openly supported Luiz to move to Barcelona.
The Daily Mail, citing the Spanish press, reported that Luiz has informed the Chelsea representatives that he’d like to switch to Barcelona.
With a failed bid for Thiago Silva, Barcelona fans are praying for Chelsea to accept Luiz’s bid.
