David Moyes will let Robin van Persie go if Edinson Cavani joins Manchester United

Manchester United manager David Moyes has agreed to let go of Robin van Persie but only if they are successful in signing Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani, reports Mirror.

Persie is unsettled at Manchester United, and his comments recently about his team-mates taking up his space were an added fuel to the fire.

In United’s match against West Brom last night, van Persie didn’t react well after he was taken off in the second half, and almost got himself sent off after a second bookable foul.

Moyes is now ready to cut Persie out of the team picture, and is eyeing to replace the Dutch with Uruguayan Edinson Cavani who had signed for PSG for a reported €64.5 million. Apparently van Persie is also willing to waive his loyalty bonus worth £10 million that he is due to receive if he completes the final two years of his contract at Old Trafford.

Cavani, however, would be very costly, and United’s seventh position in the Premier League table makes it hard for the Red Devil to qualify for the Champions League, thus making it equally difficult for them to sign players such as Cavani.
