Delhi Dynamos FC sign midfielders Denson and Amoes
The Delhi Dynamos Football Club continued its strategic focus on picking players who can play multiple positions for the upcoming Hero India Super League, by signing the dynamic midfielders, Denson Devadas and Amoes Do.
Denson, a highly rated holding midfielder, joins the team from Sporting Clube de Goa while Amoes, a central attacking, box-to-box midfielder who can also play on the wing comes from Ozone FC. This should further bolster the already solid-looking Dynamos team.
“Our signings over the past couple of weeks make it quite evident that we want to build a very strong team for the season,” Gianluca Zambrotta, Head Coach of Delhi Dynamos, said. “I have heard about the ability of the two players from the management and the backroom staff and after analyzing their videos and careers I am delighted to welcome them into our family. They will add depth to the squad and will surely play a huge role in the club’s success in the upcoming season,” he added.
Denson, who hails from Kannur in Kerala, started his career with Chirag United in 2004 and stayed there for three years. He moved to United SC in 2007 and where he plied his trade for five years. He later joined Mohun Bagan FC where he rose to prominence and became a vital cog in their squad during a two-year two stint. He joined Chennayin FC for the inaugural season of ISL but was loaned back to the Mariners before turning out for runners-up FC Goa last year. His last stint in the I-League was for Sporting.
Known for his ability to change the complexion of any match with his ability in set-piece situations, the 33-year old player is optimistic about this new chapter in his career and hopes to play a major role in the club’s success in the future.
“I am thankful to Delhi Dynamos for this wonderful opportunity. I hope to contribute as much as I can to the success of the club. I know that the club strives for excellence and success and this is the sole reason why I have joined the Dynamos,” Denson said.
Bangalore lad Amoes made his debut in the top flight with Bengaluru FC in 2013, where he won his first I-League title. He moved to Mumbai FC for a brief stint before getting transferred to the Ozone FC. The youngster is part of the India under-23 squad and is one of the developmental signings for the club this season. He will re-unite with his first coach at South United, Raman Vijayan, who is one of the assistant coaches at the Delhi Dynamos F.C.
“This is my first shot at the Indian Super League and I am really honoured to be part of the Delhi Dynamos F.C. team. A number of people will be watching me and I would want to prove myself at this level. I am a little nervous but I believe it will only bring the best out in me. I am really looking forward to train under Zambrotta and grow under his guidance as a player.” he said
Raman Vijayan was delighted with the new additions and was confident that they would have a great run with the club. “Being part of Indian football for so many years, I have followed both the players very closely and believe that they will have a huge role in our success next season. It is in our club’s philosophy to build the team around a mix of youth and experience, and the new addition just underlines this. We are hopeful that the players will perform to the best of their abilities and will bring in a lot of quality.” Vijayan said.
