The 19 year old forward suffered a hamstring injury during the Fulham game

The Spanish youngster who is currently on loan at Everton will face 5 weeks out due to the hamstring injury which he suffered during the game against Fulham. Roberto Martinez has also said that Gerard Deulofeu is not expected to return until January.

As per reports in Dailymail,  Roberto Martinez had said that -”‘It was confirmed that Gerard has suffered a soft tissue injury in his right hamstring. Obviously we now need to make sure he recovers well. We don’t think he’s going to be out for too long, probably the best part of five weeks.”But, knowing Gerard, he’s a sprinter and we need to make sure he’s fully fit.Gerard is happy. Obviously he was disappointed, but we were probably a little bit fearful that it could have been a bit more than [it is], so we’re pleased that it’s an injury that we know exactly what it is and that it’s not going to bring any more problems in the future.”

It is said that Deulofeu is said to return to Barcelona for the treatment and also for assessment of the extent of the injury.

Deulofeu has so far had a good loan spell at Everton. He has scored 2 goals and assisted for 1 in his 12 games for Everton. The Spanish youngster had also scored the equalizer for Everton against Arsenal in the Emirates Stadium.

Everton will next face Swansea in the Premier league on Sunday.
