Dimitar Berbatov will complete his contract at Fulham: Agent

Berbatov to honour his contract at Fulham

Dimitar Berbatov’s representative has revealed that the striker will not be moving away from Fulham this summer. The striker who has another year left in his contract has confirmed that he will be seeing out the remainder of the contract with the London-based club.

The Bulgarian international was linked with a move to Russia’s Zenit St Petersburg, who are one of the several suitors for the former Manchester Unietd striker.

However, Berbatov’s agent, Emil Danchev’s revelation that the player will remain at Fulham has brought relief to manager Martin Jol.

“He has another one-year contract with Fulham and he will stay at Fulham until the end of his contract,” said Danchev. “He’s happy at Fulham and he wants to stay another year. I don’t want to comment on other clubs. Even if there is interest, he’s happy in Fulham and he wants to stay. He will play football for at least two more years.”

While Berbatov’s future beyond the next summer remains inconclusive, Danchev has admitted that the player would consider a move to Russia if an interesting opportunity presented itself.

“I have heard of interest in Berbatov from Russian clubs in the past and I still hear of them today,” Danchev told Izvestia.
