Borussia Dortmund eye Papiss Cisse as Lewandowski replacement

German giants Borussia Dortmund are looking to land Senegalese and Newcastle striker Papiss Cisse as a potential replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

Lewandowski is rumoured to join rivals Bayern Munich this summer, and has also attracted interest from Premier League big-wigs Manchester United and Chelsea.

Champions League finalists Dortmund are desperately looking for new attacking options this summer, and Cisse is a potential target.

The 27-year-old striker joined the Magpies from Freiburg for £9 million in 2012, and hit 13 goals in his 14 appearances last season. He’s added 13 more this season, including a recent run of six in nine matches.

Newcastle, who have had a difficult season thus far, will not want to sell the proven goal-scorer.
