Dousing departure rumours, Ibrahimovic to honour PSG Contract

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

PSG’s star player Zlatan Ibrahimovic has repressed concerns surrounding his departure from the French Ligue 1 club, following arrival of former Napoli striker Edison Cavani and has assured that he will abide by the contract he has signed with PSG.

The Swedish powerhouse had confirmed last month that he was planning to hold talks with PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi to discuss his future at the club, although he never publicly stated his intention to leave.

The PSG number 10 was linked to various EPL clubs, and it was also being rumoured that he might return back to the Serie A. According to ESPN, there were also speculations of the Swedish International considering retirement.

But the 31-year-old has once again reassured PSG fans that he will not be leaving for the time being, saying, “I will play for as long as possible, as long as I’m well, physically and mentally, I will continue. I have a contract with PSG for two more seasons, and I will definitely respect that. Then, we’ll see.”
