DSK Shivajians part ways with coach Derrick Pereira
8th May, 2016, Pune - DSK Shivajians FC and Coach Derrick Pereira have decided to part ways after mutually agreeing to terms.
The 54-year-old Goan was at the helm of affairs and guided DSK Shivajians in their debut season of the I-League apart from the inaugural all-India DSK Cup.
During his stint, he helped the club bag the DSK Cup edging out Dempo SC in the final. Similarly, in the I-League he guided DSK Shivajians to some memorable wins over Mumbai FC and Kingfisher East Bengal as well as leading the team to a commanding 3 – 1 win over Sporting Club de Goa, which turned out to be the biggest margin of victory for the club.
DSK Shivajians President Shirish Kulkarni said; “We arrived at a consensus after a lot of thought and in the best interest of the club a collective call was made.”
“I have great respect for Derrick who has been an excellent ambassador during his stay at DSK Shivajians. We wish him well for all his success in future endeavors. We would like to thank Derrick for the time spent at the club.”
Coach Derrick added, “I am extremely proud of my time and achievements at DSK Shivajians. I would like to thank the players, staff, the management for their efforts and support. I would also want to thank the most important and fundamental part of this club, the fans. Special thanks to Mr. Shirish Kulkarni for giving me this opportunity at DSK Shivajians in what I believe has the country’s best infrastructures for the sport.”
