DSK Shivajians’ winning streak comes to an end with 1-3 loss against Pune FC

DSK Shivajians are handed their first defeat in the Under 19 I-League

13th January 2015, Pune: Pune FC handed DSK Shivajians their first defeat in the Maharashtra Zone of the ongoing Under 19 I-League. The home team took an early lead, only for Pune FC to equalize right before the end of first half. The away side then added two more goals in the dying moments of the match to claim all three points and end the match at 1-3.

Lallianzuala scored his fourth goal in two matches to give DSK Shivajians the lead against Pune FC in the 7th minute of the match. He picked up a high ball from Mawihmingthang and smashed it into the back of the net to give the home team an early lead.

Pune FC tried to force the issue after conceding the early goal and they tried to hit back immediately with a couple of misplaced shots. As the half wore on, DSK Shivajians saw more of the ball and came close to doubling their lead on multiple occasions.

However, it was Pune FC who were rewarded for their efforts in the 40th minute, when Arif Shaikh scored through a magnificent diving header to level the score.

Pune FC started the second half strongly but were unable to put their chances away. DSK Shivajians also saw a lot of the ball, but were not able to build a concrete attack.

In the 78th minute, Farukh Choudhary scored Pune FC’s second goal with a brilliant rebound.ArifShaikh then added his second goal, and Pune FC’s third, in the dying moments of the match.

DSK Shivajians now face Mumbai FC at the DSK Dream City Football Field on 18th January, 2015.
