East Bengal announce provisional squad for 2015/16 season
Kolkata giants East Bengal Club under new head coach Biswajit Bhattacharya have once more worked in the transfer period with the strategy to fill in positions of players who left the club and strengthen the bench for the assignments in the season ahead.
The big aim in the 2015/16 season under Biswajit Bhattacharya remains to bring back the I-League title to Kolkata after a rather wasted year under Armando Colaco and Eelco Schattorie with the I-League title going to arch-rivals Mohun Bagan AC.
Gurwinder Singh has been named as the new captain of East Bengal with the big signing of the summer so far being that of Nigerian centre-back Bello Rasaq from arch-rivals Mohun Bagan AC. Other signings include Korean Do Dong Hyun from the ISL's NorthEast United FC, defender Rahul Bheke from Mumbai FC and Bikash Jairu from Salgaocar FC, while a number of talented players from Calcutta Premier Division clubs have been signed.
The red and gold outfit will also wait to see how their campaign in the Calcutta Premier Division goes as well as await the end of the Indian Super League to consider signing a few more players ahead of the I-League.
