East Bengal to face Delhi XI in friendly tomorrow

Federation Cup champions East Bengal Club from Kolkata will take on a Delhi XI in a friendly tomorrow evening at 18.30 IST at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi as part of Delhi’s Vinay Nagar Bengali Senior Secondary Schools diamond jubilee celebration. Such an exhibition match is something special for the Delhi Soccer Association, so the DSA has called 40 players for a short selection camp at the DDA Sports Complex, Jasola to pick their team to take on the red-and-gold.

The Vinay Nagar Bengali Senior Secondary School is organising the match in association with the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, the Sports Authority of India, the All India Football Federation and the Delhi Soccer Association.

On the occasion the Vinay Nagar Bengali Senior Secondary School will also honour players of yesteryears from the 1960s and 1970s.

Ajay Maken, the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, has been invited to be the chief guest, while DSA president Subhash Chopra, a Delhi MLA, will be the guest of honour.
