Eden Hazard set to miss match against West Ham United on Boxing day

Chelsea player Eden Hazard is fouled by Phil Bardsley during the Barclays Premier League match between Stoke City and Chelsea at Britannia Stadium.

Eden Hazard is reportedly going to miss Chelsea’s Boxing day game against West Ham United because of an ankle injury. The Belgian international limped off in his team’s 2-0 win over Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.

The hectic festive schedule will begin with a match against Sam Allardyce’s side and the Guardian has stated that Hazard could be a doubt for the home game at Stamford Bridge. The 23-year-old was injured in the ending stages of Monday’s match after an ugly tackle from Jonathan Walters. Oscar is hoping for a comeback to the first team after warming the bench in the previous match.

The win at Stoke had made Chelsea lead the Premier League table by three points from their nearest contenders, with their midfielder Nemanja Matic feeling that Mourinho’s unit has the strength to capture four trophies in this season.
