Edinson Cavani to leave Napoli, claims mother
Edinson Cavani’s mother openly admitted that her son will leave the Italian team in the summer. Speaking to an Uruguayan radio station, she alerted big clubs who are after the deadly striker.
Top English clubs such as Manchester City and Chelsea are on high alert as they will be more than happy to welcome the 26-year-old player who has a £53million buy-out clause.
Bertha Gomez, Edinson’s mother, revealed that her son personally told her that he wants to play elsewhere and leave Napoli.
“Edi doesn’t know what will happen yet,” she said. “Naples is a city that lives for football. The affection of the people is marvellous and I have always told my son: you can go anywhere, but nobody will love you like they do at Napoli.”
Apart from Premier League clubs, Spanish giants Real Madrid are also interested in Cavani. The striker is reportedly happy at Napoli. However, the club is confident that he will move on in the summer should they fail to convince him that their squad is strong enough for a silverware in the coming season.
