Eintracht Frankfurt call off Nicklas Bendtner pursuit

Frankfurt have called off their Bendtner pursuit

Arsenal could end up stuck with flop Nicklas Bendtner this summer as his prospective move to Eintracht Frankfurt has fallen apart.

It is believed that the 25-year-old Danish international’s wage demands have been one of the main causes for the deal to have fallen apart.

An official statement on the club’s website said: “Eintracht? Frankfurt will not pursue the transfer of Danish striker Nicklas ?Bendtner? of Arsenal FC. Despite very positive efforts of all parties involved, the club decided against the transfer after weighing up all pros and cons.

SGE? Sporting Director Bruno Hübner: “We would like to thank ?Arsenal? manager Arsene Wenger especially for the positive negotiations and good collaboration. All three parties showed great willingness to make it happen, but after all it did not come together in the end.”

Nicklas Bendtner was sent to Juventus on loan last summer and Arsenal were hoping that the Serie A champions might opt to sign the striker permanently, but they didn’t as Bendtner couldn’t manage to score a single goal.
