England vs Switzerland Head-to-Head stats and numbers you need to know before Match 47 of UEFA Euro 2024

England continue their pursuit of a first European trophy on Saturday, July 6 as they play Switzerland in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Euro 2024 at the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Dusseldorf.

Despite their unappetizing performances, the Three Lions progressed into knockout stages as Group C winners, before seeing off Slovakia 2-1 in the last-16.

Ivan Schranz's first-half strike had the Falcons 1-0 up for more than 70 minutes as Gareth Southgate's team were on their way out with less than a minute remaining in the contest. However, Jude Bellingham popped up with a spectacular bicycle kick in the last few seconds to rescue England and force extra-time.

Within the opening few seconds of the first added minutes, Harry Kane struck to turn the match around and give his side the lead, as England survived an almighty scare to get here.

Meanwhile, the Swiss ousted defending champions Italy 2-0 in the last round of Euro 2024 in a statement performance. Remo Freuler (37') and Ruben Vargas (46') scored in either half to down a hapless Azzurri, who relinquished their European crown in limp fashion.

For the second consecutive European championship, La Nati have reached the last-8 of the competition, and are now inspired to reach the semi-finals of a major tournament for the first time in their history.
