English Premier League highest spenders in transfer market

Premier League teams have knocked off their European counterparts by spending €762  million to become the highest spending league in the recently-concluded transfer window.

According to transfermarkt.com, the major spending clubs were Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and late-bloomers Arsenal raking up a sum exceeding €347 million.

The previous record set by English teams was €592 million during the 2008 transfer window.

Other major European league were not far behind as Seria A came in second with the sum of €410 million and La Liga rounding up the top three with a sum of €402 million.

Although, all the major leagues has showered money on players, it was reported that no team has breached the Financial Fair Play rule.
