EPL 2016-17: Top 20 best-paid Premier League players revealed

Alexis Sanchez is not even in the top 10 best-paid players in the Premier League

Premier League boasts of some of the best players to play the game and with the baggage of being one of Europe's best, comes a huge salary to keep the players happy. Alexis Sanchez was in the news recently after the Chilean reportedly asked for a wage raise to extend his contract with Arsenal.

Manager Arsene Wenger has been surprised by Sanchez wage demands with the player using Chinese Super League's offer of £400,000 per week as a tool to sign a better deal at the Emirates.

Sanchez is currently earning £130,000 per week but wants that figure to rise up to £200,000 per week. Arsenal are said to be reluctant to offer him what he wants and Wenger has also revealed that he will rather sell Sanchez and Ozil on a free transfer rather than sell them to one of their rivals.

Wenger recently talked about Sanchez's contract standoff and said, "The luxury of the modern game means it should not only be about the money. Because of the players, wherever they play, make good money at this level. I believe, personally, maybe I am a bit naive that it's more about getting to meet the player's needs. The way the club has values, the way the club has ambition, the way the club respects the players."

Sanchez is in the form of his life and has already scored 13 goals for the Gunners this campaign with Wenger opting to play him as a lone striker this season. He is the joint top scorer in the Premier League and wants to earn at least something close to the league's highest earner in Paul Pogba.

Surprisingly, Alexis Sanchez is the 15th best-paid player in the league whereas teammate Mesut Ozil is 12th on the list.
