EPL clubs and their celebrity fans - Part 1

Someone had rightly said football and celebrities go feet to feet, toe to toe and are on the same cup of tea. It’s wonderful to see them come out and voice their support for their beloved team. Stars have always joined the football fraternity to promote their new movies or concerts or even a new album.

In this section of three parts, we bring you some of the EPL cubs and their famous fans.

Manchester United: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a vociferous supporter of the Red Devils. They also have music sensation Richard Ashcroft among their ranks. It’s not a surprise that 19 league titles attract celebrities, is it? Steve Comic, the British Comedian, is also one of their most famous fans alonsg side Dominic Monaghan.

Manchester City: The Etihad stadium is in itself a beautiful sight, featuring all new modern facilities. What more do you want if you have the music of the Gallagher brothers reverberating around the stadium when the matches are on? Does their football resemble the music of the brothers? Yes, Noel and Liam Gallagher have been loyal fans of the blue half of Manchester for a long, long time.

Chelsea: Sir Richard Attenborough, the famous actor and director, famous DJ Paul Oakenfold and comedian Will Farrel are all part of the Stamford Bridge faithful. With their Champions League triumph last season, their popularity will indeed grow.  Oh yes, how did I forget Justin Bieber?!

Tottenham Hotspur: Jude Law is perhaps Spurs most acknowledged celebrity fans alongside millionaire Sir Alan Sugar. The Times cloumnist David Aaronovitch is a huge supporter of this London club as well.

Arsenal: Prince Harry tops the list amongst many others. American Film Director Spike Lee is also well know in the Emirates Stadium. Johnny Rotten and Piers Morgan, the talk show host, are avid Gunner fans as well.

Everton: Sylvester “the Boxer” Stallone is amongst most well known famous faces in Goodison Park. Legendary singer Sir Paul McCartney also features amongst the ranks of The Toffees.

Liverpool: This would be too large a list to make. To sum up Daniel Craig (James Bond), famous actor Samuel Jackson and tennis superstar and former world number one Caroline Wozniacki are all vocal for the Red half of Merseyside. John Bishop and many television actors pay a visit to sacred Anfield. It’s no surprise when The Reds claim to have arguably “most knowledgable and faithful supporters from all over the Globe”.

Swansea: The first Welsh side, and my word they are packing a punch is the EPL since they have qualified. Catherine Zeta Jones is an ardent fan of the Liberty Stadium faithful.
