Despite making a strong start to their season, Manchester City have lost their lead at the top by suffering two league defeats so far. Pellegrini’s men went behind early on in the game to Newcastle United through Mitrovic’s goal in the 18th minute. The home side levelled the match when Sergio Aguero scored his third goal of the season in the league on the stroke of the half-time break. The Argentine ace man went on to stun all of the attendants at the Etihad by scoring 4 goals in the second half – making him the third player to score 5 goals this season in the top five European leagues. City made a remarkable comeback ending the game at 6-1 at full time.

Schlupp doubled his side’ s lead in the second half before Norwich pulled one back in the second half through Mbokani which was not enough for the home team to save a point.

Both the newly promoted teams in the league, Bournemouth and Watford shared a point each in their eight-game of the season. Both Murray and Ighalo registered their names on the scoring sheet. Stoke City, on the other hand, picked up a crucial three points in their away visit to Villa Park. Arnautovic scored the winner for Stoke in the 55th minute.

West Ham got themselves back in the game despite trailing by two goals to rock bottom side, Sunderland. Aguero now has 7 goals to his name in the Premier League this season

The Manchester City striker was in untouchable form in front of goal, as he smashed five goals past Newcastle United’s goalkeeper Krul at the Etihad stadium.

The home side was behind before Aguero levelled the score for the Manchester outfit before half-time. The striker was not done for the night as he went on to hit four more in a blistering start to the second half, with all the four goals being scored in less than 20 minutes.
