Euro 2016: Budweiser is giving away a free beer to everyone in Wales

Budweiser will need a few trucks to carry Beers for everyone in Wales

In 1958, a certain Edison Arantes do Nascimento crushed Welsh hopes in Sweden in a World Cup quarterfinal and now 58 years later, Wales are back again at a major competition and how. The Welsh fans in France have been singing “Please don’t take me home” and Chris Coleman’s men haven’t disappointed them. After outplaying pre-tournament favourites Belgium in the quarters, Bale and his Welsh teammates travel to Lyon to take on Portugal in the semis. The biggest game possibly in Welsh football history is all set to take place this Wednesday, things just couldn’t get better for Welsh fans. But they just did.

Budweiser, one of the leading brands of beer are all set to give everyone in Wales a free Beer. Yes you read it right.

Budweiser says they want to “raise a Bud” to the passionate Welsh football fans who never gave up believing. The company based in Belgium said that this gesture is to show their support to Wales ahead of their semifinal clash. The football romantics all over the world possibly hope that Wales do a Leicester City at Euro 2016 and Budweiser have joined in to show their support.

A Budweiser spokesperson based in UK said:   “At Budweiser, we’re all about celebrating epic moments, and that’s why we wanted to raise a Bud to the dedication of all the Welsh football fans out there in honour of their recent success, and to show our support ahead of the nation’s next big game – by giving everyone 18+ in Wales a Budweiser on us.

"We also have one of our biggest breweries based in Magor, and have close ties to the Welsh community, which makes this moment that little bit more special for us too.”

Things just couldn’t get better for Welsh fans right now and come Wednesday, they will pack Parc Olympique Lyonnais and sing once again “ Please don’t take me home” hoping Bale and co. will oblige once again when they take on Bale’s Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal.

Putting things to perspective Wales have a population of around three million, and around two and half million are approximately over eighteen. That’s quite a few beers, Cheers!
