Euro 2016: Toni Kroos thanks Virat Kohli for his support
Virat Kohli has already declared his support for Germany in the ongoing European Championship in France. Now the Indian batsman is all set to receive a gift from none other than Germany and Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos after the latter said as much on social media.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore and India’s Test captain, who is not playing in India’s series against Zimbabwe and is an ardent football fan, had earlier tweeted that he willl be supporting Germany in Euro 2016.
The 27-year-old posted a picture along with the tweet of him sporting the Germany jersey with the number 18 on his back, which is the number he wears while playing for India. So it should come as no surprise that Germany’s No.18, Toni Kroos, responded to the tweet and praised his choice of jersey number.
Kroos, who is integral to Germany’s chances of winning their first European Championship since 1996, posted this on Twitter ahead of Sunday night’s clash against Ukraine, which will kick off Die Mannschaft’s Euro 2016 campaign.
Beautiful shirt and great number choice @imVkohli ! Awesome! Going to send you a gift #FirstNeverFollows https://t.co/A0u3n15WP3

The 26-year-old central midfielder is fresh from winning Real Madrid’s 11th European title, which they claimed by beating Atletico Madrid via a penalty shoot-out in the UEFA Champions League final in Milan.
Although Germany go into the tournament as the World champions and one of the favourites, they still have a tough task ahead of them as they first need to get beyond their group, which contains difficult opposition in the form of Poland, Ukraine and Northern Ireland.
Kohli is an ardent football fan even played as a midfielder in the recent “Celebrity Clasico” football match for charity. It was a game that saw cricket go up against Bollywood in a match between two star-studded teams. The game saw Kohli’s charity, the Virat Kohli Foundation line up as the All Hearts XI and play against Abhishek Bachchan’s “Playing for humanity” charity, who went by the name All-stars XI.
The game saw Kohli’s side, which included the likes of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shikhar Dhawan and Yuvraj Singh come from behind to finish 2-2 against Abhishek Bachchan’s team that featured Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Dino Morea and Arjun Kapoor.
