Euro 2016: Twitter reacts as Wales defeat Northern Ireland
Gareth Bale delivered again as he carried Wales into the quarter-finals of Euro 2016.The intensity throughout the game was poor as both sides did not have much to offer going forward. However, as the match was rolling into it’s dying minutes, the Welsh superstar came to the rescue.
Gareth Bales’ devastating low cross into the six-yard box, put Gareth McAuley in an awkward position as he tried to clear the ball away from an onrushing Robson-Kanu, only to send the ball rolling into his own net. Northern Ireland had a better game according to their standards and their resolute defense almost managed to keep Wales at bay. However, one moment of impressive play from the Real Madrid man changed it all.
Wales will now play the winner of Hungary vs Belgium in their quarter-finals. As always, people took to Twitter to make let their feelings out. Here are some of the best amongst them.
If England played Northern Ireland would they play 'God save the queen' twice? #WALNIR
