European clubs with the highest average attendance in the 2013/14 season
According to a report in Football Economy, Borussia Dortmund had the highest average attendance in the 2013/14 season with a staggering figure of more than 80,000 fans attending home fixtures. This is not the first time they have topped the list and their position remained unchanged from last season.
The clubs are ranked by average match attendance in league matches.
Premier League giants Manchester United come in second place with an average attendance of 75, 205 followed closely by La Liga clubs Barcelona and Real Madrid, even though they have bigger stadiums. Bayern Munich complete the top five.
Six Bundesliga clubs make it to the top 10. The biggest jump in the table saw Hertha Berlin rise 27 places to the ninth spot.
In the list of top 100 clubs, England dominated the list with 27 clubs, followed by Germany with 23, Spain with 12 and Italy with 10.
