Everton vs Manchester City Predicted Lineups - Premier League predicted lineups and more
Everton will be up against Manchester City at Goodison Park on Wednesday. The visitors have an excellent chance to leapfrog past Liverpool to grab the top spot in the Premier League table; the game has been brought forward because Pep Guardiola's men will be featuring in the League Cup finals against Chelsea later this month.
On the other hand, Everton are not in great shape. They have won just two Premier League games since the turn of the year.
Even though Manchester City have phenomenal stats in 2019, Rafa Benitez's Newcastle United turned up and froze Pep Guardiola's men, who threw away a one-goal lead away from home. Marco Silva will be looking at the same blueprint and would love to frustrate the Cityzens.
It will be an intriguing battle, but Manchester City have too much quality stacked up compared to Everton.
Injuries
Left-back Leighton Baines, who was taken off in a defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, will miss this tie - along with Yerry Mina and Phil Jagielka.
Pep Guardiola has confirmed that skipper Vincent Kompany will be out for this clash. Eliaquim Mangala and Claudio Bravo are long-term absentees for the club.
Suspensions
Neither side has any suspensions.
Player form
Marco Silva confirmed that their star midfielder Idrissa Gueye will be back from injury after being forced to sit on the sidelines for two games. That will come as a huge boost to the team.
Based on current form, there are no real picks from the Everton side, who have looked shambolic over the last couple of months.
On the other hand, Sergio Aguero will be heading into this game on the back of a hat-trick against Arsenal. The frontline including Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane have always been among the goals this season.
Defensively though, City have looked shaky as a unit.
